So do you buff the boat or use a heavy compound?

I cut and. Buff. I use a cut compound to cut the scratches out and te buff over that to make it look really shiny I do the same thing to cars

Well there is a.difference when you're dealing with guys boats because I have a neighbor who lets it set for a week on oxidized boats,before buffing.

Not that much. Except with some gel coats you can actually be more aggressive.
