Seth Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 The weather conditions aren't looking the best so I'm hoping that will keep some of the crowd at home. I'll be down there at the buzzer somewhere where the river bends just past the second cleaning station. Smalliebigs 1
Members Matt Madura Posted February 27, 2015 Members Posted February 27, 2015 I'd rather wrestle a bob cat than be there opening day that falls on a weekend.
Smalliebigs Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I used to go but, the combat fishing got to me if I wasn't drunk. I had some fun times at Montauk back in the late80's on opening day.....I think your right though this weather will keep some away that have to drive awhile to get there.
Seth Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 I just go for the free coffee and donuts. Since I'm there, I may as well fish though. I think the biggest reason I still go is out of tradition and the hilarity of getting that many anglers together. It provides some pretty good entertainment Folks falling in the river, people getting all tangled up and cussing at each other, watching people belly flop on top of a litlte trout so that it doesn't get away, etc. The fishing itself is almost second nature to everything else.
