Members Ralda Posted March 7, 2015 Members Posted March 7, 2015 As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm new to trout fishing. Is evening trout fishing good-ok?
Gatorjet Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Yes, very good. Tiny insects called midges hatch in the lake, and raise to the surface. You will see trout "midging" all over the surface at times when they feed on these tiny bugs. A small jig, 1/80, 1/100 ounce or smaller under a float will provide lots of actions. Of course the fly rod fishers do quite well with tiny flus to. Bait fishing off Lilley's dock often produces a lot of action in the evening. Various colors of Berkley Gulp Power Bait, one white, and one of another color, or a piece of night crawler will get you a lot of fish well past dark. Aggressor1988long 1 Real men go propless!

aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 it was a good day. lots of people out and the fish seem to bite, we caught 25 rainbows 1 brown and a crappie, most came on a 1/16th oz brown and white jig from Lilly's and a few on rapala countdowns. Nothing huge but they kept us busy. right before dark was excellent. 3 fish on 3 casts Aggressor1988long 1
