"What is sculpin colored marabou look like?"

Lighter than brown, darker than tan, with a hint of olive.

In a sculpin/olive jig you can see the more brownish tint of the sculpin color against the olive.

My go to, and always the first color I try.

Some that I have made include the following marabou: Olive, Brown, Light olive, and ginger. I tear the barbules off the stem then kind of stack it all together. I am thinking that should be a good combo, thoughts?

That combination sounds very good. Trade you a Gator ride for a dozen in 3/32 & 1/8! LOL

There in lies my problem as well, I my mold doesn't have a 3/32nd slot. I am I going to be missing out by jumping from 16th straight to 8th oz jigs? I have a source for some if needed I can purchase them.

The only thing you need to do is fishthe jigs you have. You obviously enjoy tying and tinkering with it, but there is no need to have every size and every color combo. I'd bet you more than have it covered.

Not bragging, but I've caught thousands of trout on jigs and not one of them came on a 3/32. 1/16 oz and 1/8 oz get the vast majority of the fish for me. If I fished Taneycomo more, I would throw the 1/32 oz more often most likely.

Go catch a bunch and tell us all about it. I look forward to your success.

Thanks! I will probably just keep tying with what jigs I can pour. And yes I really enjoy tying! I am not worried about having too many jigs, I plan on fishing them on my home waters for panfish, bass and eyes. I have a feeling most of these combos will cross species borders! Thanks again guys I am really anxious to get down there! Only 3 more months...

3 freakin months is a prison sentence. Holy Crap! I start getting edgy if I haven't fished in 3 days.

Well I will be fishing LONG before I make it down there! Just have to deal with walleyes, crappies and gills until I get down there! After school we are going to check to see if the ponds have cleared off around here!
