Members Wornica Posted March 11, 2015 Members Posted March 11, 2015 Fished yesterday in zone 2 and caught 15 fish in the afternoon. Nothing big but for the first time I caught fish using 3 different methods in one day. First, free drifting a white or pink glo ball. Then, stripping a brown wooly bugger and then later in the day I put on a Renegade to dry fly fish. Had fun! Daryk Campbell Sr and brittsnbirds 2
Johnsfolly Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Sounds like a good time. We were down on the 9th and had a great time as well.
dnj21 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I love 'em on the drys!. What is a good late March dry? I love the Crane flys in the summer, but never tried dry's in the early Spring. Headed down for 3 day weekend next Friday, should have some time to experiment.

Most trout stocked at the parks don't know the difference. Just get the size close. Get a good drift over fish feeding on the top or in the film.
brittsnbirds Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 If they are sipping not really tearing it up on the surface try a size 22 and smaller black or olive colored emerger. If that doesn't work get a size 24-28 Griffiths Gnat. Size 7 or 8x tippet.
