Dennis Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Fish the last four days on the Gravois Arm for Crappie got five Wednesday night inabout 12 foot of water since then have not caught a fish. Have fished points, have fished condo docks deep water fished shallow water all of the above. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
fishinwrench Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Put on a 1/16oz. Curl tail roadrunner (chart/white, or blue/white) and just take off down a bank with it. You'll find a school of them.
Dennis Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 Thanks for the help. Backs of cove or toward the mouths?
fishinwrench Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Not the very back ends but a good starting point is the closest steep bank to the back end.
fishinwrench Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 What area of the Gravi are you close to ? Above Coconuts or below ?
Members dennisduckhunter Posted March 16, 2015 Members Posted March 16, 2015 I normally fish up to Indian Creek. But I can go aove coconuts. I have never fished those Missouri Department conservation brush piles up on the upper end of the gravois I thought I might try them tomorrow also.
fishinwrench Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 It is typically a early and late bite for the most part. The places where you might catch one or two dink's during mid-day will often produce a limit of gooduns during the last hour of daylight. Brush really isn't that important right now. They are just kinda cruising the shoreline I think.
Seth Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm going to give the Gravois arm a try tomorrow myself. I've never been there but I figure I'll just go pick a bank with rock and start casting. If that doesn't work I will go graph some brushpiles in 12-15 and fishing them. That pattern usually produces something for me on the Glaize arm. There has been a few recent reports of people catching them up shallow. A buddy hammered them on Friday but another guy went and hit the same spots today and never caught squat so they must be moving around a bit. Another guy said they caught a mess today fishing minnows 18" deep in 4-8' of water.
fishinwrench Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'll just go pick a bank with rock and start casting. That's gonna be your best plan, Seth. Just move along quickly until you get one, then slow down and pick it to death. Seth 1
