Fish24/7 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Fished from noon until 6:30pm around pt1,2 &3 areas. First topwater fish of the year! Managed to find only 3 keeper smallies , and 3 short largemouth on susp. and floating rogue in the backs of pockets, cuts and coves where runoff water was running into the lake.A few were suspended just under the surface and would grab that floating rogue right on top ! Saw a couple decent small schools of largemouth cruising quickly down the bank heading out of the coves as if they were late for an appointment or something.
Quillback Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Things are changing fast - top water fish already. I fished one of the Bella Vista lakes today and saw a couple of swirls on top. Did not try a top water however.
Fish24/7 Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 bass were just sitting there right at the surface in that warmer water facing the current coming in , I'd throw about 10' away from them twitch it a couple times and they would swim over and one would grab it on top.Fun, but after hooking up on one fish it spooked the rest and I'd have to look for another spot. Kinda got onto that bite too late in the day , Had been using suspenders almost the whole time w/o mch action.. Then I boated 3 fish in the last hour when I switched back to the floater again.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Wonder if those fish would eat a floating worm?
Guest Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Its crazy how quickly things change. I zeroed yesterday, so congrats on figuring that out.
