Members dmill1011 Posted March 17, 2015 Members Posted March 17, 2015 I am new to the area and also boat less. I had someone recommend CC bridge area off 160. Is this a good place to bank fish? I know no one likes to give away honey holes but I am open to all suggestions to bank fish from. Thanks for the help.

wuteversbitin424 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Usually both...up around aldrich is a good area as well on the little sac...there is a thread on here from a year or two ago that explaines in detail one on the places i fish...i will try and find it
Sac River Jim Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 go across the CC bridge to the first road back to the left . it will take you down to the old road bed. walk around the little pocket to the opposite side and throw a grub/ swimming minnow type bait from the point down to the rip rap on the new bridge. if that dont work go to the other side of the road bed and walk down to the pocket about 50 yards down and do the same. i havent been up there since the rain but heard it was a mudhole over the weekend. if i was gonna fish off the bank id go to the old road bed at the 39 bridge north of greenfield. sons creek is in pretty good shape. i caught some nice whts up that way on sunday fishing a bass derby. waterpossum Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Fought the wind all day starting at CC. Water temp 54.5 around the bridge. There are plenty of white bass to be caught and saw several caught by bank fisherman. We caught six whites, a couple which were huge females. Talked to a guy cleaning whites at the ramp that had challenged the low water to get further up Turnback. The water is dirty, but didn't seem to effect the white bass bite. We were targeting crappie and walleye without luck, so we took out and went to clearer colder water around Ruark, 48 degrees. After about an hour of crappie fishing with no luck I put on a stick bait (clown color) and caught a keeper walleye. My partner did not have any equipment so I rigged him up and he immediately caught two more nice walleye. I had one more short walleye, but we both lost two in the 3-4 lb range. Caught about 12 bass , but only one over 15." The bite was on chunk rock bank with boat positioned in 18' of water. All fish were caught between 4 and 6 pm. Forgot how sore you can get flinging and jerking. I believe my 71 year old body has about a 100 cast limit.
LoweSTX175 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I was planning on making a trip from KC to spend all of next week on the lake. I'm thinking I'm going to push that back another week or two and see if the lake level will go up a little more so I can get my boat back up into Turnback.

It has come up about a foot in the last week to 864.37. That still leaves it a little over 2.5 feet below normal pool.
wuteversbitin424 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 you just take 123 north of where 215 goes back west and cross the Aldrich bridge and continue to go north for about 3-5 mile or so until you come to a road on the left called 475 and turn left. the road will bend back to the left and then you have the option to go straight on a white gravel road or follow the road to the right go straight on the white gravel road and follow it about half a mile then it ends in the water but right before that there is a turn off to the right...turn right and go another half mile or so to the second turn on the left...once you turn there are two roads one left one right...if you have anything less than a jacked up 4x4 go left and follow it all the way round until you see a cut in the woods on your left where you can park...park there and take the walking path that goes straight off the hill to the lake...theres another trail to the right that goes to the water too but I always go down the one on the left going straight down...and that will take you to the water...take minnows corks and lanterns and fish 2-5 ft deep from 4 or 5pm till you get tired...I've caught many crappie and cats there and will be there next tues. wed. and thurs. night....message me your number and I can help you find it if you need it...also google Stockton map and you can find the road 475 i'm talking about. hope this helps.
