Members TZAHL Posted March 20, 2015 Members Posted March 20, 2015 Thinking I will be in the lake area tomorrow afternoon and was trying to decide whether to fish below the dam or go find some crappie on the main lake. Has anyone heard any reports or had any luck below the dam? Thanks!
fishinwrench Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Heard about a nice walleye (6-8#) caught on the 6th or 7th by a guy fishing 3" grubs for Whites/hybrids. That's all I've got.
Hog Wally Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Has anyone glanced down there lately? Have the masses gathered yet? redtickstreed 1
Members TZAHL Posted March 23, 2015 Author Members Posted March 23, 2015 I swung by Saturday around lunch time. Decent number of people but by no means crowded. Looked like mostly guys catfishing. They were letting very little to no water out so not much of a current. Quite a few trailers near the boat ramp but only 3 or 4 boats in the dead channel and a couple off the point where the 2 meet. That's all I got.
Members Wahoo61 Posted March 24, 2015 Members Posted March 24, 2015 Buddy of mine has been down quite a bit catching alot of whites, 5 10 hybrids a trip and several nice walleye in the 5 to 8 range. Not just talk. Sent pictures. Only when they are running water. Like one generator 1/4 jig head, curley tail. All I know.
Members moduckman22 Posted March 25, 2015 Members Posted March 25, 2015 Been there every night for 2 weeks . Walleye a great one night and very few the next. No need to be there until 5:30 and fish till dark
Members TZAHL Posted March 26, 2015 Author Members Posted March 26, 2015 Thanks for the feedback! Think I might head down Friday after work and try beating the bank a little bit. Hopefully they are running a little water then! Duckman what have you been having luck with if you don't mind sharing? I've never fished for Walleye from the bank as usually I'm a bottom bouncer guy but the water needs to warm up a bit more before I start doing that.
Members Wahoo61 Posted March 26, 2015 Members Posted March 26, 2015 Google Truman Lake Daily Information that will give you some idea of the water release. Also google Southwest Power Administration and go to generation schedule. They only post the schedule for the next day normally in the afternoon of the preceding day. Truman is HST No. 17 in the column.
Members moduckman22 Posted March 27, 2015 Members Posted March 27, 2015 They have been running one unit regardless of what the phone says. I always throw a white and char slider on an orange 3/16th head. Bite a few rungs off the slider to shorten it up a bit and it seems to make a huge difference
