If you can ignore the mpg claims its a great truck. The 5.0 is a fantastic engine too just not quite as much low end but gearing makes a world of difference.

Mine is a few years old but tows great. I have an 09 with the 5.4 in it. I talked to a few people who are not big fans of the eco boost for towing, but I think they made a lot of improvements to the newer versions. It seems like may only offer the eco boost in a few years.

I have never driven a vehicle that gets the advertised MPG, but definately love the ford over my old dodge.

Pretty much this. I've had one for a year now. Just pulled a 20' fiberglass boat 1800 miles roundtrip last month. It does NOT get the advertised MPG, but it's a sporty truck to drive and has more power than I need for towing. We shall see how a blown V6 holds up long term, but it does come with a lifetime powertrain warranty. I love how quiet the ecoboost motor is because I'm not a fan of loud trucks. I wish I could put an aftermarket programmer on it, it sounds like that will really make one come alive, but I don't want to jeopardize my warranty.

As long as you put the tune back to stock they will never know when you take it in for warranty work.

One of the flavors of EcoBoost F150's will be my next vehicle. The 2.7L is really intriguing as I'll probably end up with an aluminum boat rather than a glass one, and that should be plenty to pull a lighter boat around.

This isn't entirely true. They can tell how many times the ecu has been flashed and how many key turns since the last flash. If you pop a motor and the count is low then they'll know something's up. It depends on the shop and customer though.

I don't want to stray to far off topic and I'll admit I'm a ford fan but that new 3.0 dodge diesel they are putting in the 1/2 tons is intriguing. 30+mpg! It might be worth studying up on.
