I have 2 Cabela's RLO combos, a 5 wt & a 8wt I don't think these combos come with good line so I'm looking to replace it. The 8 wt I will be using for bass fishing throwing streamers & poppers etc the 5 wt more for trout & pan fish.

The local fly shop is having an open house in 2 weeks and one of the specials is bring in your old line & get $20 off any Scientific Anglers line. My problem is with so many choices what would be my best bet?

The GPX's are sweet, I've always liked the Rio lines I've casted.

I want to say both SA and Rio have some sort of low stretch "in touch" line that doesn't stretch like a normal fly line.

Maybe try casting one when your there. All depends on what you can cast well.

i just bought cabela's house brand (forgot the name) wf6i and i really love it. Personally i prefer it over my scientific anglers line. plus it was only 50 bucks.

Let the summer of Carp, begin.

I have bought a bunch of lines lately and honestly- as long as I get a weight forward line that is from a decent company I have been happy. I even like Cortland 333- which I have on my 7 and 8 weights (cut off about 2-3 feet to make the taper shorter). Cortland's pricier lines are nice too. You cannot go wrong with Rio or SA. All their lines that I have tried are great. I've got GPX Textured on my 5 and it is money. I don't like the Sharkskin lines- only because of that annoying noise they make.

I'veal ways had great luck with Rio Gold line. Casts great and is long lasting, especially when cleaned regularly.
