Members ALLSTAR1 Posted April 1, 2015 Members Posted April 1, 2015 Fished this afternoon for a couple hours in zone 2. Did well on large glo-balls, white and yellow/red dot. Also 1/64 oz sculpin jig and black/yellow jig. All under a strike indicator on fly rod. 2 lb leader.. Water was up about a foot. Off color to dingy, Not many out for such a nice day. Size was on the small side from the stringers I saw. Released all mine.. had one maybe 15 in. most were 12 +/-. Caught about 10 from 3 to 5 pm.
brittsnbirds Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Here you go upstream. Just after getting the 5er set up I looked towards the river and noticed "Ole Baldy" flying up zone 3. Now that's inspiration if I ever saw it. Yesterday's weather was beautiful down here actually it's been great just being down here. Water is stained, but not muddy. Has a nice flow, something we didn't see too much last year. Looks like it is going down according to the USGS. As usual I did pretty good stripping DEEEEP with woolies and Crackleback's. Stripping above dam as well as the handicap above Holland Dam. Also tried Zebra midges, San Juan worm, BH pheasant tail, BH Hares ear, Y2K, Crackleback, and several others. As far as top performers, nothing really stood out. Still have the rest of the week but looks like weather is going to be unstable.
upstream Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Ole Baldy was dipping into the hatchert tanks opening weekend . He was sitting in the big sycamore tree at the end of the outlet taking his pick . Glad someone got away to fish . Have a cold one for me .
upstream Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Looks like its raining pretty good now. Trying to work its way here now .
oneshot Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Looks like its raining pretty good now. Trying to work its way here now . It poured more than I've seen in a long time. Suppose to get more in a few hours. This is really what is needed in the area to get Creeks and River flushed out, move some fish around. oneshot
dnj21 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Trout cam right now looks nothing like my screen saver from a trip a few weeks ago- man it looks like the Missouri River right now!!
NoLuck Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 What's funny is how the local business that does the report did their report on Wednesdsy instead of the normal Thursday report. Things that make you go hummmmmn???
