Guest Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I'm going over to Grand Lake on monday for the first time. The only time that Ive seen this lake was the Bassmaster classic coverage on TV. I have no idea how the lake is laid out or what a good pattern is right now. I'm assuming they're shallow, since its April & a full moon. The forecast is cloudy with 25mph wind & 70 degrees. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
ollie Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I'm thinking after all the rain we had there will be debris floating around the place so watch out. I know just driving from work home the other day there was a lot of debris floating down Shoal Creek. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
rps Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 On Grand two things drive the bite. Water level and brush piles. If the water level is high enough to be in the willows look there or near there. If not, find the many. many, many brush piles set by individuals and carve a pattern from them. Water color is usually green semi clear unless you are down by the dam and baits that move water do well. How did I do Champ?
