Hammer time Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Got a late start after picking up boat from Championship Marine had hull buffed out looks like new, Tom and his crew are super. Put in at mill 4:45 tried football jig on long tapered poinus no luck. Moved to channel banks and swings with old school suspending wart and game on. Ended up with 15 and 9 solid keepers. Had trifecta and 5.7 black biggest 5 around 16 pounds. Using 8lbs test and banging rocks then paused and they smacked it. Most fish had wart deep in their throat.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 That's nice work. Will be interesting to see how long the wart bite holds up. Seems pretty close to last year when the Elites were in, and that was short lived. Hammer time 1
Alex Heitman Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Nice report and good job for the short time on the water. Ha met time what is the water color like up that way? Dave that is exactly why I'm skipping the next two days of class to hammer some in a crank. It's my favorite fish catcher. Just moved into another apartment and finished that up this evening. Was pretty exhausted on the way down here but once I got here and seen the lake level I got another boost of energy. dtrs5kprs 1

Maybe it will rain enough here and there to keep some flow going. Kind of think it will be a short frenzy unless it gets considerably colder.
5bites Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 That sounds fun and all but I got to work yesterday. Who needs an awesome wart bite when you can cut metal for someone else right?
