Members bbcg59
Heading down to Stockton next week for some walleye hunting with father and son and it will be our first time on the lake. We are hooked up with a guide for a couple of days. Hope the weather holds out so we can actually get more than a little fishing done. What is the status of walleye spawn/fishing (would guess it is pre or just starting the spawn) ? Any suggested lures/colors ? Any other suggestions ? inshore
great idea using a guide will probably have a good time and catch fish. walleye are probably still spawning in some parts of the lake due to cold water this year. as far as tackle light rods and line and the guide will be who to follow on lures. Kramr
Always good to start with a guide, that's what we did our first time walleye fishing at Stockton. Since then we are pretty consistent about catching them. Trying to remember our guides name, do remember we fished out a Skeeter multi-species boat. That was 2007 or 08. Gosh, what was his name, nice guy. Will be headed down there on the 12th. Let us know where you fished, ie, points, drop-offs, etc. Depths. Suggestions for lures: flicker shad, new flicker minnows in various sizes and colors. Caught a lot on those and Cablela's reef-runners. Three-way with crawler or crankbait (minnow style seems to work better for me) trolled along at about 1 mph.

WakenLake
You might be able to catch some at the steel bridge on hair jigs... www.jordanvalleyautorepair.com

You nailed it. In the last two weeks I have been twice. Three nice keeper walleye on each trip with a few throwbacks, and the bass will keep it interesting 3/4 way back into the coves. Things may have changed, but most points around the dam area should still be producing especially after 6 p.m. All on bone color. Kramr
Kramr...Sounds like JR Oldhams boat. Could be, looked for his website which seems to be down or no longer in use. Did find a couple of videos of him. Very well could be him. When he guided us he used lead line and flicker shad.
