I was fishing for white bass in the upper White above twin bridges on Thursday. My jig got snagged a little, and I pulled up some monofilament. I don't leave that junk in the water. I pulled it free of the snags, and there was a pretty good crankbait on the end. It was a 4" Lucky Craft Pointer Minnow. I looked it up and about $17 retail value. That's the most expensive lure I have ever found.

I guess most people find tackle. I once found a sealed six gallon metal gas tank floating in the same river.

Any others want to share?

I have caught two different rods and reels. One was a classic Zebco on a solid glass rod. That came out of a farm pond years ago while I was tubing.

The other was a Diawa on a Berkley Lightning rod. That was off the Devil's Backbone summer before last.

Fishing the wolf river in Wisconsin, I watched a boat about 100 yards above me lose their full wire basket of white bass. About 20 minutes later I snagged it and was able to recover and return. Amazing! 20 deep with a cruising' current. Lake Erie, middle of lake casting erie dearies, hooked a rod & reel right in the tip top. go figure the odds of that. And just last fall hooked a rod & reel near Beaver Shores. By the condition it had been down there for a long long time. I've lost a couple set ups myself and hope someone is using them today. Quick report on Saturday. Water temps up to 56 in Joes Creek. Caught 10- 12" crappies and a couple bonus spots casting a curly tail grub. Lots of company. Suspended in 12-15'. Hard eggs still.

I found my daughters Barbie rod that a catfish dragged into a pond two weeks later while jig fishing. Most of the other stuff I find has completely rusted hooks and isn't usable anymore.

Snagged a complete, rod, reel, and crankbait set-up last year on Beaver. Unfortunately is wasn't a high quality setup.

I did as well last year. Had a Quantum reel on it. The reel was shot. But I cleaned up the rod and used it for a while. Then it snapped on a hookset.

I heard Yakfm caught a banana last year. Lol!

Odd things. I've found many baits before and line.

Size 9 converse tennis shoe during polar bear tourney 4 or 5 years ago. (Jigging spoon). Still the only thing I've ever caught on a spoon, come to think of it...

4 rod / reel combos last year during the big blizzard. I had thrown a 1/8oz jig and let it sink to bottom. Pulled up once and thought I'd hooked a monster. But, one of the rods was a nice Falcon, and I caught my best bass on it yesterday ;)

Yep, snagged a banana peel with F&F and a baby diaper and beach towel out on solo trips. The diaper and towel were in front of swim beaches, as you might expect. A few rusted/worn lures but nothing that could be used again.
