Ealy Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'm coming up Thursday and am curious about Brown's Bend. With the lake at 655.6 should I expect problems dropping in my BassCat? I put in there once about 6 years back and don't remember much about it.
fishinwrench Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 At the current lake level I doubt if you can get launched at the Brown bend ramp with anything bigger than a jon boat. Mimosa beach might be OK. That's the only other ramp I am familiar with over on that side of the lake. Not sure if Coffman marine is still in biz ?
Jbrant Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Coffman Bend Marina is still open and has a ramp you can launch on for $7 I think. Put in there last weekend without any problem.
Ealy Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Good to know. I don't really want any surprises Thursday morning.
Members peoriaone Posted April 15, 2015 Members Posted April 15, 2015 Mimosa beach is open and the ramp extends 30 feet into the water at least. Small launch fee, I think $5
Ealy Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 I called Coffman Marina today to ask about launching. They want $5.50 to drop my boat in the water, followed by $5.50 to put it back on the trailer. They mentioned limited parking as well. I was going to practice that arm of the lake for the BBB, but I'm changing my whole game plan for the tournament solely based on principle. $11.00 actually buys a fair amount of boat gas these days.
Jbrant Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Yeah, I didn't think about parking - it would be pretty limited there. They've got a lot of old junk boats covering the place. I've never put in here but Moonies has a ramp - it's on the other side of Coffman Bend - more up around the 56-57MM. No idea what it costs or what parking is like, just see the sign on the way to the cabin.
