mhowerton Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 This morning my Dad and I fished upriver from Rim Shoals. It was our first time throwing zig jigs. I normally throw rapalas or some type of spinner. We both consistently caught fish over the two hours we fished. I will definelty be fishing jigs more often. Jeff Tief, Ccox1982 and rps 3
Ham Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 It's crazy how good they are. I'm happy to hear of your success. It just gets better and better the more often you fish them. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members Ccox1982 Posted April 18, 2015 Members Posted April 18, 2015 All I use to throw was rapalas and spinners as well. Buddy of mine got me on marabou jigs a few years ago and it was game on. I now pour and tie my own marabou jigs thanks to him. My tackle boxes of spinners and rapalas do nothing but collect dust.
LittleRedFisherman Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Great fish!! Yeah, that pretty much what I throw now, with the exception when there's a good jerkbait bite. Ham's right, it will just keep getting better as you use them! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
hoglaw Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 My selection has gotten smaller too. All I carry anymore are jigs and jerk baits. But I do carry a lot more jerkbaits than I need to. Still need to figure out which one is the magic one. I think a dd78 is my favorite so far.
joeD Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Zig jigs are great Keep using them. They catch fish.
