Members kelbrand Posted April 25, 2015 Members Posted April 25, 2015 Can anyone here help a dad who wants his family to catch some keepers? Bass or Crappie. Doesn't matter. I'd love to take my family (from Bolivar Landing) out and catch several keeper Bass or Crappie. Suggestions on what to use, where to use it, how to use it, etc (please be specific for an idiot like myself). Just want to fish for food and family enjoyment. I don't fish competitively, etc. Thanks for any help! zin65622 1
Members zin65622 Posted April 25, 2015 Members Posted April 25, 2015 Twin coves fish structure 10 ft deep or less. stay out of the wind blown stuff if possible it makes fishing nearly impossible especially if just learning. Probably easiest thing is a float with split shot and gold crappie hook using live minnows. Sometimes a jig works fished this way but not my preference. Move depth around from probably 18 inches under to ...... well depends on the day. From bolivar landing go straight across the lake to point watch the depth on left side twin coves is on the left side. Lots of trees just keep moving till you find them. Ham and buddygr53 2
oneshot Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Ok I have never fished Bolivar Landing but always other side of the Lake. My understanding is Bolivar Landing has couple Docks. Can always just use Light Action Rods, 6# test Line, small Hook, couple Split Shot, Crappie Minnow, drop down 10-12 foot, set catch some Crappie. oneshot zin65622 1
