I would recommend either...

- fish a tourney on Lake 'O the Pines (Brushy Creek? I grew up in Longview) for a good chance at some 5+ lb bass

- fish for stripers on Beaver for a good chance at some 15+ lb fish

Fish Pines a lot but probably not a good weekend to go there either. There is a two day, May 2 and May 3, Big Bass Tournament that will probably have more boats that the Beaver Lake Chamber Tournament. First Place is a 2015 Skeeter ZX200 and Yamaha 200 SHO and $40,000 cash. It get crazy there too as I am sure you know. Usually takes a 8 to 10 lb fish to win it.

i believe you wore yours two weeks ago ;)

200+ boats for the tourney... Plus all the wake boats, pontoons and just average joe fishermen... People will be parking all the way to the gate again

That was for you bub. I wore my Legend Jersey since I got to fish from the big boat. :-)

Gotta wonder how many walleye were caught accidentally in that tournament.

I caught this 22 incher in 30 fow about 5' down at 2:00 with the sun blazin. I don't know what she was thinking.

I was thinking same thing.

But I have caught some very skinny ones this year. Terribly skinny.
