Bitethis Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 From Springfield, and I fish Stockton 90% of the time, TR the other 10%. I dream of fishing Truman everytime I drive to KC. I also hear nothing but great things about it. I would like to fish it soon, but would really appreciate some wisdom on where to put in, and how to fish it. I am looking for anything that bites. I like fishing Whites, Crappie, Bass, and catfish.
Hog Wally Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 The wier is fixing to go hot for all those species. When you start to see 30 boats right at dam it's hot Shad fry get piled up there and I use tiny spoons and murder the crappie and whites.

Skeeter ZX190 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Out in front of the dam the bottom comes up to about 10. Extends for quite a ways parallel to the dam.
fishinwrench Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 No one end of Truman is any better than the other, so for someone new to the lake I say "pick a ramp and stay within 10 miles of it". My area is out of Windsor crossing. That is the only area of that lake that I ever fish. I know it well, and I always do OK.
Members decoded Posted May 7, 2015 Members Posted May 7, 2015 When the weir gets too crazy, the G4 and G10 points are great too. I Troll sassy shad or white grubs on heavy enough jig heads to get down deep. You can find those points on any map and get to either easy from Longshoal, State Park, or Shawnee Bend ramps. No funner way to spend the day!
