Members mikes custom fly rods Posted May 8, 2015 Author Members Posted May 8, 2015 On the lake monday through wendsday couldn't find crappie but we caught about 40 short walleye only 2 were keepers we did catch about a dozen large mouth, they still had eggs. I guess we need to fish later for the crappie spawn. Mike brune
vonreed Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Thanks for the info. It's hard to get any info on Bull Shoals. Either people don't fish there or they're secretive on giving info out. At least you were in the walleye.
Roger Craig Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I haven't been over there for a month...Should be lookin myself. Lake bound 1
Fish24/7 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 worst Spring for crappie i've seen in 15yrs... have yet to see anybody I know with a limit of crappie in the last 8 weeks even the night bite under lights is slow from what I've heard. they can be caught, but it has not been as good as it should be imo walleye bite has been pretty good.
mojorig Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 The crappie anglers that we have been in contact with haven't be doing any good since the water start rising this spring. The same thing occurred on Lake Norfork too. We saw a few crappie while conducting our spring bass samples on Bull Shoals near the end of April. Most of them were really dark suggesting they were about to start spawning. Jeremy Risley District Fisheries Supervisor AGFC Mountain Home Office - 1-877-425-7577 Email: Jeremy.Risley@agfc.ar.gov
