Members skinny waters Posted May 28, 2015 Author Members Posted May 28, 2015 Well I've seen almost 30# win It and over 25# win it multiple times. But this year something was off. Bet it takes over 17#'s this weekend in the gasconade clubs open
Members skinny waters Posted May 28, 2015 Author Members Posted May 28, 2015 5 fish. This just wasn't that year
dnj21 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I have crossed that river heading to St Thomas many times but never fished it. I read about what the bass club catches out there and just shake my head- hard to picture that avg weight coming out of the river. Lot of places closer to home, but it may be fun to try to learn this stretch of river sometimes. Thank you for info!
Seth Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 The Osage has some big fish. We won a tourney last fall below Bagnell with 15 something and lost a couple of fish that would have probably put us around 17. One boat weighed in one just under 6#. The Gasconade doesn't produce near the fish that the Osage does. Even if you can't get the largemouth bite on the Osage, you can pretty much always have a ball catching kentuckies. They just don't do much for you on tournament days. My buddy took 2nd last year with 21 something. The guys that beat him edged him out by a few ounces. Conditions were much better fishing last year though.
Members skinny waters Posted May 30, 2015 Author Members Posted May 30, 2015 Not that this river needs more pressure cause it has plenty already, it certainly has its days. I would say on average you better have 14# till mid July to cash a check. I remember in a 10 boat tourney and I had 18# and thought I had it in the bag till a guy pull 23# out of his boat. Sux to get beat by 5# with a 18# bag. Seth 1
