Members Spooner73 Posted May 17, 2015 Members Posted May 17, 2015 I went for a while on Saturday 3 keepers a lot of small fish must not have been doing it right
Ham Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 You might have been doing it exactly right. It is a time of transition. I post every time I go. Last time I went was a REAL grind during the middle of the day. The first and last 2 hours of the day were my best fishing time. If I had come late or left early, it would have really hurt my numbers. You caught a lot more fish than I did yesterday and I bet you had more fun too. Members Spooner73 Posted May 17, 2015 Author Members Posted May 17, 2015 Tried for walleye no luck .top water and fluke and small zoom worm was OK.But walleye is what I would like to figure out
Ham Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Join the Twin Lakes Walleye Club. The most successful way to catch walleye is trolling. Not really my cup of tea, but those guys catch the walleye. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Fish24/7 Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 post spawn walleye bite is good , saw several 24"+ fish caught trolling in the last 5 days. trolling for walleye can be as "simple" as long lining crankbaits http://www.in-fisherman.com/walleye/longline-trolling-crankbaits/ that dive the appropriate depths/speed based on the conditions. I like to drive around looking for fish/bait with my Lowrance first, then I'll put a couple lines in the water and drag. I use a shakespeare line counter that clilps on the rod blank so i know how much line is out. Rapala has a great precision trolling app. Have caught many 25"+ walters on Bull ,lots of whites ,and black bass too while trolling. good luck Diamond City Fisher 1

Members Spooner73 Posted May 17, 2015 Author Members Posted May 17, 2015 Those guys mainly trolling DD 22s or using lead core line .I've never used it just heard about it
Bluff-Bassin Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Went out 3 days last week. A lot of stuff working ok. Nothing working great. Buddy caught a 24" walleye on a jerkbait. Caught 7 short walleye all on 6xd in shad colors. ALL on points in 13 to 18fow. Can catch a few largemouth in the bushes early. Smallies on same pattern as Walters. Added in a drop shot in same areas for numbers usually shorts. Not seeing many Kentuckies between Pontiac and theodosia where I've been fishing. Spooner73 1
Bluff-Bassin Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Took 11.8 to win theodosia derby Saturday with 20 boats. Took 25 and change over two days for the central pro am I just read.
