Did my first overnight of the year. River was up and stained. The rental that put me in said the river was flowing really fast, but I made the worst time that I've ever made doing that stretch. The first day was good catching smallies, largies, and kentuckies. Perch were not biting very well, but the ones I did catch were good quality. Got 2 channels during the night. One on live minnow and the other on cut perch. The next day was terrible. A few perch. My best smallie of the trip and couple more. Only 2 Goggle Eye the whole trip. Last year I didn't catch many either. This is starting to worry me a bit. Since the fishing was slow, I decided to try to get another cat. I have never purposely fished for a cat during the day on a float, I found a spot that I thought I had a good chance to get one and my efforts were rewarded. I did notice the smallies in the 8-10in range have not spawned yet. Bellies full of eggs.

I put in at walkers ford and got out at Ozark outdoors. I catch most of my fish before the Huzzah enters the river. Which doesn't make any sense because it looks productive everywhere.

Same here but I always catch a few around the bridge. So much float and jet boat traffic in that stretch that it probably has some negative effects on the fishing.
