Ham Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I fished from roughly 7AM to 7PM. I spent the first three hours trying to catch top water fish. I got 10 bites and zero fish to the boat. I did get a couple of just barely short walleye dragging a tube and a jig worm around, but I decided to quit fishing and start catching. I can't seem to catch them in the creeks, but I can in the main lake areas. So back out to the main lake I went. I am fishing main lake in 20-35 foot of water. I caught fish on 4 inch tubes, jig worm, and 4 inch grub. Colors varied. I tried a bunch and got bit on most. I had a great day for walleye. I caught 7, but all of them were short. They will be keepers by the end of the summer, but they weren't today. I caught 45 bass. Every one of them was a smallmouth. Lots and lots of shorts, but I had some good ones too. I'm pretty frustrated that I couldn't get some topwater fish. Water temps were 71-73. Water clarity was very clear. Take Note. The road to the ramp at Jimmy Creek is under water. I was able to launch today, but they were closing the road after all the boat trailers were out. If planning to use this ramp, you should figure that 674 Is about the highest water that allows that ramp to be used. The ramp immediately behind Eastwald's Boat shop is open and I am told it will always be open, but the parking situation is iffy. james 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Ham Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Good report ham, I just got the call they shut down lead hill campground. WHAT! Why? It had room to go. A buddy launched there a few days ago and said it would be good for many more feet. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

rangerman Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I know I was kind of pizzed. I have a house in kimberling city but my kids like camping there at lead hill and the peace and quiet. Called campground host around 9am and he said b loop was shut down. I was b26...but other sites were available. 2 hours later the Feds left me a message saying lead hill was shut down and pay,net was being refunded. They would not reopen until at lease June 25th.
