BilletHead Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Well things are pretty slow in BilletHeadville, So I called Duane yesterday afternoon for the scoop. Come on down and I'll show you how. Twist my arm I thought. So up at 3:30 AM on and on the road soon after that heading South to Taney. Launched at cooper creek just below Lilleys and up to Phil's establishment to meet Duane. Got to meet Phil too and what a neat place he has. For all that have not you should do so. Big water not too fly rod friendly we were quickly shown how to make up a drift rig for the spinning rod. Loaded up double scuds on them. Up river we followed Duane and started drifting below fall creek. Do you ever get tired of catching fish? I thought so me neither Fish after fish like this, We caught many doubles and every time I looked towards Duane he had one on. Then Mrs. BilletHead hooks this, She out fished me today but that is nothing out of the ordinary. A break and back to Lilleys so Duane could pick up his bride at the dock. Still can't figure out how he ended up with her? She even delivered him lunch! What a lady. So off again we go this time to the cable and some drifts in the trophy area, It was a hoot more fish and then more fish. Caught on san juan worms too. Close to three PM and after six and a half hours on the water it was time for the BilletHeads to head out so we bid the Doty's adieux and wish them well as they head back to Alaska Saturday. Back to the ramp out of the water again to Phil's. Had to get me some of those OA stickers. Hoping there might be some left as we had not scored any yet. Sure enough there they were and we grabbed and ran for the long trip home. Great day and thanks Phil, Duane and Mona, Mr. and Mrs. BilletHead Chief Grey Bear 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" duckydoty Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Just got off the water a bit ago myself Marty. Got 15 hours of fishing in today. After dropping off my MonaChari, I went out with Ryan. We went back up to the cable and had a blast. Midges were coming off pretty good on the boat ride back. Phil Lilley 1 A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!!
