Riverwhy Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I bass fished from morning to mid afternoon in the main lake area on Saturday. We caught largemouth on everything we threw from spinner bait to crank bait to football jigs. By far the most success came on a pb&j ned rig. The rig produced by far the greatest number of fish and much to my surprise accounted for the heaviest fish. Most fish were shallow and three pound plus fish were common. All bass were largemouth and no spots were caught. I even targeted a few bluff ends for the spots but they would not bite. Overall it was a great day with 29 bass caught between the two of us. One last thing to mention is that 17 of the largemouth came on the same ned rig. Pretty efficient bait.
fishinwrench Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Honestly, what would you estimate the weight of your best 5 keepers ?
Riverwhy Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 15 pounds. I just did not have that big kicker fish.
fishinwrench Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 15 is respectable. We fished specifically for bigger fish yesterday and could only scrape up about 13 lbs. in 4 hours. My Ned'ing days may be getting closer.
MOPanfisher Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 The "Dark Side" is calling you Fishingwrench, embrace it, soon you will be "Nedding", AND pouring sea foam/Stabil into your fuel, maybe even filletting a few bass.
fishinwrench Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Nedding is a definite possibility, and I'll fillet a green bass quicker than anyone. Especially a Ned caught one. You'll never see me with a bottle of Seafoam though, I'm not too cheap/lazy to tear into an engine and fix it the RIGHT way.
