bferg Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 So on my summer bucket list is a night fishing trip to Table Rock... Probably will put in at Big M. My current night fishing experience is pretty much limited to buzz baits, black spinner baits, and throwing a jig around docks....all at Beave Lake. Any pointers for a novice? What type of structure or area should I start to focus on?? (Points? Docks? Ect?). Any specific techniques I should start with? Not looking for specific spots or secret lures- just some info to get started... Any help is much appreciated.
merc1997 Bo Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 depending on just when you are coming will depend on where and what you need to be fishing. jigs and worms work great at night, and sometimes there can be a spinner bait bite going also. this has been a weird year, and would be very hard to predict what the bass will be doing in a month. me personally feel that many bass have not spawned yet, and are just now showing up in areas that i would expect them to spawn. also, bites are becoming more normal for bass around nests in that many bites are not felt other than pressure, and moving off. bo Sac River Jim and Codywskeeter1521 2
SplitG2 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 10" UV worms around the back side of lighted docks. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Hammer time Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Channel banks and swings and mainland and secondary points. 1/2oz jig, 10in worm, single spin all in black/purple. And don't forget black jitter bug on hot calm nights. Just my thoughts, good luck and stay focused. Sac River Jim 1
Sac River Jim Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 blk/purple fleck or grn pumpkin 6'' gary yamamoto senko on a shakey, blk/blue chrome short arm spinner bait built on .035 wire so it really thumps with a blk colorado blade, grn pumpkin magic/salsa and touch of orange jig with a critter craw for a trailer and as hammer said don;t forget about the ole blk jitterbug. it can be deadly on big fish.those are my go to baits on the rock but i'll be honest with you the rock has kicked my butt so far this spring. Jim has sound advice on the blade, you want to use a short arm thumper and fish it slowly on ledges and they will pound it on the fall. Short arm is the key imo. Sac River Jim 1
Members Paul Nienhaus Posted June 15, 2015 Members Posted June 15, 2015 Fish with a friend if you can, be careful when using lures with more than one hook at night-a strong fish will end up getting a hook in you. And be careful of heavy lures and hook sets - nothing like knowing you missed a fish and your lure is flying back at you in the dark
