Members kelbrand Posted June 20, 2015 Members Posted June 20, 2015 So what's it like near bolivar landing? Is it even accessible? Is there alot of floating debris in the lake? Just trying to figure out if it's even worth doing a little bass fishing tomorrow. Thanks!
MOPanfisher Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Bolivar area will be muddy and likely have plenty of debris. Ramp is unlikely to be useable, but is a crap shoot on the debris. If I was going to launch it would be at least as far down as Lightfoot or wheatland.
Members kelbrand Posted June 21, 2015 Author Members Posted June 21, 2015 Do you have to pay to launch at lightfoot?
MOPanfisher Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Normally yes, however since the courtesy dock is unusable the fee has been temporarily suspended.
sandbc Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 was on the lindley arm today and to my surprise there was not hardly any floating debris. we were crappie fishing and fished from hermitage ramp to past haverstick above nemo. water was good near the dam and became more stained the farther up we went but I would never say that it got muddy where we went. besides getting hot we could never find any fish. I had one keeper in six hours. that was the only fish caught. talked to one tournament bass fisher that only had 2 fish. wasnt expecting much to come in at the weigh in.
MOPanfisher Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I am surprised as big as Lindley was running earlier in the week. Would have expected from Nemo Bridge up to be full of debris.
oneshot Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Went over the river at Hermitage. River wasn't up any higher than it has been. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I am glad it wasnt, it's about 7 miles below the dam, if it was up and out of its banks, that would be bad. Although if we get a really heavy rain in a short period there is a small creek that enters between the two bridges that can back the river up.
Members MikeBCanon Posted July 14, 2015 Members Posted July 14, 2015 After noon. Can someone provide an update on the status of Bolivar Landing? I am wanting to take my kids fishing but was not sure if i would be able to put in safely. I don't want to drive from Springfield to find out that my day is ruined if I can keep from it.
MOPanfisher Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I was at the ramp Monday. No debris to worry about, however was was up in the transition area where the slope isn't as steep, so you would be out in the water a little way before boat floats probably. Also courtesy dock is no where near useable, will have to pull boat up on the pavement while you park. MikeBCanon 1
