dtrs5kprs Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 It's a tater chip with hooks, but it does catch them. Have gone to throwing it on a very soft St Croix 6'6" crankbait rod, and 30# braid. Throws better, works as well, and hooks up better. Have caught a bunch of fish on it since Randy let word get out a few years ago. Just a very different bait.
Ham Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 No doubt it gets looks. Just way too frustrating for me to use. I really think the bait design is causing the fish to knock it away from them as they strike. We'd have to supper slow mo about a 1000 strikes and then drill down on the 700 strikes that did not result in a hook up to see if there was a common cause. NOW before the flaming arrows head my way, just kidding about the numbers. i have the feeling that the majority of the strikes are misses, but I may be dead wrong. Pepe Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I'm glad you had a good morning, other than losing a good fish and lure. After taking several rollers over the bow near point 22 I was afraid we would lose everything on the deck. I only had one fish on a spoon.
Codywskeeter1521 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Awesome report and thank you. Glad you got on some top water fish. Stinks to loose a bait period especially a top dollar one.
