DaddyO Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I'm planning on making a Trip to Branson around the 25th of September. I prefer to wade fish and I will have a few newbies in tow. Provided we do not get any big rain events between now and then. What are the odds that we will have any wade-able water? DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
JestersHK Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Dependant on the amount of flow they are letting out of TR. Phil does an amazing job of keeping us in the loop with what the COE is planning. I know on my trip down there last month when I arrived the flood gates were open on that Saturday (basically no area to wade or even get in the water) and they closed them on Sunday, and by Tuesday morning I could walk across Taney again after they closed them. Even with 1 or 2 generators going there are usually a few areas to wade by the outlets if you get there early before too many folks get down there. I try to avoid the outlets as it can get pretty boring fishing the same spots over and over, but they do produce allot of fish on the lines. Some of the creek mouths are wadeable too if the water is up. Never been down to those, but I'm sure others can put you on them. Worse case if water is way high and flow is turned up grab a boat from Phil's and do some drift fishing!
Gatorjet Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Without any more heavy rains it's a good possibility they will be on a "normal" generation schedule. What ever that means. For what it's worth, and it usually isn't worth much, Accuweather isn't predicting any kind of large rain producing events like the Midwest has been getting. All the way through August they are showing lots of sunshine, and hot weather with only a few random days of storms. But then the heat itself might be a problem as higher electricity demands might have them running the generators a lot during the day. Real men go propless!

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 14, 2015 Root Admin Posted July 14, 2015 I don't think anyone can say until they START letting water out of Bull Shoals. At that point, you may give it an estimate. But right now we're in a holding pattern. The whole Midwest, with the exception of the free flowing rivers, is backed up waiting on water to drop out of the Mississippi lower river and delta.
