Members line wetter Posted July 19, 2015 Members Posted July 19, 2015 This is so far my worst summer in years catching crappie at night. Brush oiles and bridge piers down to 30 feet isn't working for me. Little sac arm. Any suggestions? Also taking the grandkids up for some perch jerking, any suggestions on some decent bluegill in the daytime?
slab slinger Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Save your gas till they pull the lake and returns to normal pool. Then the crappie will be in the pole timber and brush piles. The interest thing about high water is everyone struggles finding fish and a reliable pattern. That means more fish for fall and fish that haven't been pressured. Just my opinion, someone's probably slayin them right now. Haha. Bluegill has always been good for me around the docks in the shade under the floats. Good luck Hope you and your grandkids get em. Aggressor1988long Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Thermo.cline is.all messed up do to water being consistently churned up last two weeks by heavy rain.
fishinwrench Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 A cold rain would have effected the thermocline. The warm inflow shouldn't have effected it at all. Lifes2Short 1
Walcrabass Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Don't know about "everywhere" but I have been finding the Thermocline in all different depths and weird places. I have even found "Pockets" of it in little depressions on the bottom. Wally Aggressor1988long 1
Aggressor1988long Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Yes walcrabass thats why fishing is messed up not to mention Stockton turned over last week, it messes with oxygen levels and everything.
Walcrabass Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Mr. Aggressor, I am in total agreement. It is also the reason for the smaller fish being caught and not so much on the larger ones. It takes the bigger fishes body ( more meat to cool down or warm up ) longer to recover from changes. Glad to know the lake turned over. I'll stay home for a week or so. Wally
