Members ranger90 Posted August 4, 2015 Members Posted August 4, 2015 I'm sorta new to stockton and am looking to go camping this weekend I have a pull behind camper and pontoon. Wanting to know if there's any campgrounds that are right on the water where you can pull boat up to your campsite? Thanks for all the help
zarraspook Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 If you go to the National Recreation site .. it will give you a map to click on all the sites at Stockton and then click on "check availability" and them click on "facility Map" which will show all the camp sites.. Personally I use Ruark Bluff east or west... This link will take you to Stockton lake page.... http://www.recreation.gov/unifSearchResults.do fishbait3 1 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
slab slinger Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Roark Bluff camp grounds. East and West sides both have what your looking for. There's a few at Cedar Ridge with water access also. Probably others as well but these 2 are the camp grounds I use.
kwall Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Crabtree off Hwy 32 has a cove that boaters use for that and sites are close by
Members crappie-hunter Posted August 5, 2015 Members Posted August 5, 2015 Hawker point has several spots where you you can pull your boat up as well
Ketchup Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Ruark West is my choice. Family oriented. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Members ranger90 Posted August 5, 2015 Author Members Posted August 5, 2015 Thanks for all the help it's really appreciated! Not sure which one I'll be staying at yet but I'll be down Friday night thru Sunday. Hopefully I can get on some crappie and walleye and come back with a good report.
Bushbeater Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I highly recommend Hawkers Point although you may want to plan on anchoring slightly offshore to protect from the rocks.
LoweSTX175 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 If I were to camp I'd also try to go to Hawker and get a site close to the water. What makes Hawker attractive is you can night fish all around that area and not have to travel far at night. The bridge is close and the cove right there has always produced fish during the summer.
