Now we'll have a report. Fished from 7 to 2:00 pm. I trolled from the dam area to areas around rocky branch. I fished with everything everywhere. The keeper walleyes where nowhere. Caught 2 short walleyes, 8 small bass mixed (all I think came from this years spawn), 2 bluegills and 1 crappie that could have ate all the others. Going to Sams to buy some salmon. Second time out in 7 wks.

Sorry but that's both funny and sad. It has been a rough year for walleye. The spring run just never panned out and summer bite has been tough. I have not targeted them much but the one or two keepers I've caught were surprises. All others we're 15-17". Most on the Ned rig.

Keep your chin up. Gall is coming and I bet it gets better. It has to. But it will only get better if the water drops down significantly. If they keep it up as it is now, could be rough fall as well.

I disagree J-Doc when the water cools down the water being in the grass and up in the trees is GREAT. The biggest bass and biggest stripper I have caught on Beaver have been in areas that you could drive a truck through at 1120 feet.

Now I will also agree that water being drawn through the dam and those first good cold fronts do make a wonderful combo, but so does 60 degree water and flooded grass.

I hate to say this but in the last 7 wks I've killed more armadillos than keeper walleyes. Anybody have a recipe. Do you think this is the reason for lack of 18" walleyes since they are eating all the grubs and other bait that comes from runoff. I did not think cooking them in a half shell was tasteful on the grill.

I don't think they make a tequila strong enough to make a 'dillo palatable (now watch it pop up in the 'whuts cookin' thread). They've sure put the red worms in my yard on the lookout. Almost tripped over one on the way to my truck one dark morning last week.

I haven't posted due to lack of time on Beaver. That will change soon. But, archery season is soon to come.... I have caught a few fish a little farther south to keep me somewhat satiated.

As far say the negativity, let's all just hold hands and sing kumbaya.
