Awesome report and insight on the bushes....what advantage do you think this jig gives you over a regular spinnerbait? Just the loose head?

I haven't used this particular SpinJig model that Bo makes but I do use his regular NuTech jigs. So based on that the jigs come through cover and hangs less than any jig I've ever used. Put that jig on a free swinging spinner arm and that not only makes it less apt to snag but also when you do drop it down to the bottom the jig is probably going to land hook side up instead of on it's side like a spinnerbait would. One would think that would improve hookup percentage. I've heard Bo also claim that his style with the free swinging jig attached to the short arm spinnner creates more "thump" or vibration than standard spinnerbaits. Need to get a few and try them out.

This thread is a wealth of knowledge. Thank you for the information. Bo, great report on the lower end.

the loose head design definitely will provide more vibration. the design of the wire frame also is self tuning. so, even if the wire frame is out of alignment, it still runs straight. also, because of the bend design of the frame, it is pretty indestructable. the hooking and being more snag resistant is the by-product of the head.

i just wanted to add that if the O2 levels on the upper end ever get back up and we have some active bass, this same pattern could easily be reproduced back up this way. it very similar to what you would be doing in june actually.

I was with " Old Bo " on this expedition and I too was throwing a Blackwidow Spinnerbait 1/2 oz. Jig and let me tell you he out guunned me 8 to 1. I was left to merely enjoy the Perseids and they were quite beautiful! I came up with this wild idea that a gaint vacuum sweeper was sucking the bass right out from under me and came up with and this, that couldn't be skill, so had to be something more scientific. So on ride back @ 4:00 A.M I came up with Otolith!!

Thanks for the ride Bo!
