Went out of PC this morning looking for bass. We never went more than a few miles from the ramp, but also never fished in PC itself.

Water temp was around 80 when we started. It was nice and cloudy for the first couple hours.

The bite wasn't red hot, but for not having a lot of time on the water this summer, I was pleased.

I landed 7or 8 bass. A good mix between LM, SM, and Ks. My buddy got a couple too.

Topwater worked until the sun came out. The best fish was caught on top. The rest of the fish came on a drop shot using a robo worm. I never caught anything "offshore" however I did catch most of them in probably 15ft of water. My buddy got his best bass on a swim jig over standing timber on a point.

I got off the water probably 2 hrs. later than a I needed too. The fishing got real tough. Could have been me losing concentration too. My ears were still ringing from way too long of a night at the Electric Cowboy. Hence the awesome bed head. :)

All the texts and photos I've gotten today are really making me want to go.  Maybe I can go one afternoon after work this week.

He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

Nice report. I have not had a chance to report this but I got out Tuesday night and did alright. I also fished around prairie creek and caught 4 all shorts on top water. That's all I fished. And I missed several others. I fished From 7:15 to about 8:30.

I should add, there was definitely some bass chasing shad and busting the surface, not only in coves but also main lake. But, none of the fish I caught on top came from them. They must have been after something specific that i didn't have, because casts to the boils didn't lead to any hits.

thanks for the report.... I can't bring myself to get up early and fish on a weekend.   Especially after a night at the electric cowboy. Lol. But ya, good report.   Hopefully this warm spell doesn't ruin the bite.

The by the book answer to this is to throw a spoon to the boils an let it fall through the boil to the bigger fish lying below. This has got me strippers lying below whites but never a big large mouth. Just thought I would throw that out. I have better luck throwing a wake bait and imitating a wounded shad leaving the school.

Thanks guys. Both ideas I didn't try. I didn't have a spoon ready but I did have a drop shot.

I'm planning I going out tomorrow evening. I will post an update assuming I do get out there. This time of year I like mornings better, but it's still better than not going at all!
