MObassin95 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Hey all! I'm new to this forum and also this area. I'm a freshman at MSU and during Labor day weekend I'd like to do a little fishing/exploring. I've heard that there are some nice bass in Lake Taneycomo. I can't find a whole lot of specific information so I thought I'd ask you guys. Where is the best place to go on Taneycomo for bass? Is there any specific area(s) you guys would suggest? I don't have a boat, but I'm willing to drive or walk a ways to get to some fishing. Or maybe if there's a place I could rent a canoe or kayak to fish from. Like I said I'm new to this area so any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a'million,
tho1mas Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Taney is tough without a boat for bass - buy a trout stamp - you can use Rockaway & several places around Branson.
MObassin95 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Alrighty, I'll keep that in mind. Thank you
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Dont think you need a trout stamp that far down unless you plan on keeping trout
Moswimb8slinger Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Empire Park, near PowerSite dam or Rockaway Beach area is the easiest to get to by foot. Topwaters, spinnerbaits, and weedless rigged soft plastics (worms, lizards, flukes) are effective baits. Ozarks Extreme Outdoors does take rentals to either area. Gatorjet Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 A trout stamp is not needed on Tandeycomo down lake from the Hwy 65 bridge at Branson unless you keep trout in possession. "Permit required to possess trout, except in trout parks where a daily tag is required. This permit is also required for all winter fishing in trout parks (catch-and-release) and for harvesting trout or fishing at Lake Taneycomo upstream from the US Hwy 65 bridge." http://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/fishing/species/trout/trout-seasons-hours Real men go propless!
marcus Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 fish table rock instead its 10 min away from taney and ur more likely to catch bass from the bank there
Members dennishoddy Posted September 24, 2015 Members Posted September 24, 2015 Buddy does nothing but bass fish on tanny. He stays at a resort just below the 65 bridge and fishes the Rockaway beach area. I tried it last year, and caught some nice 1-2 pound bass. Trav 1
