This is almost exclusively a bass fishing forum - and that's fine, as that's obviously where most of the interest is.  I fish for bass sometimes too (yes, C & R), and I have fun doing it.

I'm just asking bass fishermen here to remember that posting your "other species" sightings can be a huge favor to those like myself who prefer to fish for crappie, white bass, goggleyes, black perch, and such.  In particular, now is about the time of year for white bass to start tearing into schools of shad on the surface - and I do love "chasing the boils" with light spinning tackle.

So if you see anything like that while pursuing the big green and brown fish, I'd be much obliged if you'd post it - that information really helps in planning trips.  Thanks!

I have heard there have been some showing up in the Kings river arm, Deer Bluff area.  Some have been coming up at the mouth of Kings River also.  They haven't been staying up very long.

2 weeks ago the goggle eyes were THICK everywhere near point 2 around the dam. Also, I was with the family last weekend staying at Stonebridge in Branson West and didn't have time to make it to the lakehouse in Blue Eye. I did however bring a rod and minimal tackle in the car and took the fam to the trout hatchery at the dam. Afterwards drove across the dam to the visitors center and made a few casts off that point and there were a TON of shad lining the bank right there. One would assume that the whites would be around so probably a matter of time before you see the whties busting them on the surface or pushing them back into creeks and pockets.

If you like catching googleye i have a place for you. Little C and have a blast catching them and they usually are there. It's a fairly small cut, the second one north on the west side of point one. To describe it further, there will be the Treehouse Condos just to your right. You will be just south and slightly east of the Treehouse two sets of docks. Hope my directions are accurate for you. Those little guys are indeed a blast to catch. The only whites i have caught were in the summer in the back of cow creek. That day they were feeding on top and we had a blast. It was hot, fairly slick water and in the evening.
