M_Taylor Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Put in at Rocky Branch and didn't fish far from ramp. Cloudy and cool all day. Water temps around 70-72. I fished in creek arms mainly. Had a good day but no giants. Half my fish were on topwater and the other half were from Spinnerbait and lipless crankbaits. My bite slowed around 10ish. I couldn't get anything along bluffs. Had to be chunk rock and lay downs. jolicious, J-Doc and fisherofmen11 3
Quillback Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Good deal, nice to see a couple of healthy looking bass.
Dan the fisherman Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Nice report. I launched out of RB also and ran into another OAF member. I got to meet stump bumper (John). It's cool to meet people from the forum. N e ways, I was striper fishing though. I zeroed on striper. I'm going to give it another week before trying again Taylor, thanks for the report. I'm going to get back to bass fishing and ur report is encouraging
Stump bumper Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Hey Dan, nice to meet you also. I was on the lake from about 12:30 -4:30 started throwing spinnerbaits since the wind was blowing so hard then went to the kitchen sink. I got some small smallmouth and spots around trees on a drop shot. I fished point 5 down into Rambo and did a lot of running around RB and did not see the shad that I have seen south of point 10. The small fish I caught were not as fat as the ones south either. I don't know what it is like north of point 5, but has anyone else noticed the difference? It was cloudy and water was between 68-72 I should have been able to find more fish, I couldn't even find schools on my depth finder and shad were not that thick anywhere I looked, small bait balls here and there. I saw several platoon boats checking deep water then speeding away, look like they were searching and not finding also.
Dan the fisherman Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I notice that as well stump. I ran as far as starkys. I found a few small klumps of bait. I idled a lot yesterday and never found a big school of bait. There may be some bait some where up there but I couldn't find it... There's bait everywhere below point 10 like u stated stump but I can't locate striper down there. Btw I did mark some large fish by some humps in the RB area yesterday but could get them to bite. Funny below point ten I can find the bait but no striper, above point 10 no bait but marking big fish without getting bite. Oh well. I'll keep at it till I'm get on them.
Champ188 Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 There's bait where the stripers aren't and no bait where the stripers are. A connection perhaps? Stump bumper 1
Dan the fisherman Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Lol yup. Guess that why I couldn't get them to bite, they're all full. Hah
jerry241 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Dan your report makes me feel a little better about my outing earlier this week..... Not that I wish bad luck on others I'm just glad I'm not the only one who couldn't get on them... Ha just a side note gentlemen I saw the 1st snow of the season today up high in West Virginia hope we are not going straight to winter Dan the fisherman 1
