merc1997 Bo Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 this will be night and daytime fishing. actually wanted to tell of the night fishing trip one of my buddies had monday night on spinjig. his best 6 weighed around 23 lbs. that is some really quality bass. we went wednesday night and i caught a 5 b. 4 oz. right off the bat and had 3 other keepers with one of them a solid 3. the front shut them down fairly quick. went this afternoon and just killed them. best 6 was an easy 18 lbs. depth was between 20 to 25 ft. caught mostly largemouth, but had some nice keeper kentuckies in the mix. these fish are roaming the flats and you have to cover some water to find them, but when you do they are in a wad. really nice to see some quality largemouth coming on, and there really is a great amount of small ones. hope in a couple more years, there will really be a number of nice keepers. water temp is around 67. did see jeff's truck in parking lot, but never did see him on the lake. bo BearFisher10 and abkeenan 2
Champ188 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I'm impressed. A buddy and I fished the lower end Wednesday and took 8 hours to finally catch five keepers for about 13-14 pounds. QB fished the same area as you and had one keeper. Six for 18 pounds in half a day is just killing them, for sure.
Quillback Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I was hiding from you Bo. Are the daytime fish hitting the spin jig?

Members JWT Posted October 30, 2015 Members Posted October 30, 2015 I was back out on my hot boat slip Tues afternoon.. Had only about a half hour to fish. They were there again. Had 2 nice Ks, a big white, and a bonus crappie on the spoon. Also a couple dinks. Had another nice fat K up to the boat and when I tried to boat swing him, the spoon came out and hit the roof of the dock. Sounded like a rifle! I saw tons of shad there in the cove, and noticed that there were some dying ones in there. Don't know if it was excessive, but probably a dozen or so in one of the big shad balls. Is this normal for this time of year? I will try to post some pics when I can figure it out.. I'm kinda low tech... Don't want anyone to think I'm full of it, lol! Good luck guys!

Makes me think it's just about time for a decent jerkbait bite then. I've had decent luck the last couple of years in the first few weeks of November on a jerkbait. Thanks for the report. All of you actually. Thanks much.
Members JWT Posted October 30, 2015 Members Posted October 30, 2015 Glad to contribute! I hope you tear 'em up on the jerkbait! As for me, I'm afraid I won't put the spoon down for a while. I had a good fall season last year on it as well. It's kinda turned me into a one trick pony.

We're going tomorrow. Will report on how it turns out. I got on a little deal late Wednesday that might be very good tomorrow. It produced 3 of our keepers (and zero shorts) in the last couple of hours. Never thought I'd say this outside of a tournament day, but I'm getting a little weary of catching 8-10 inchers. However, I'm with you on it being nice to see so many of them. Makes a guy think there could be some very good days coming down the line. big c 1
