Stump bumper Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I was out from 8am to 5pm started back of Coose trying to catch shad. The wind was too hard and could not see the gizzards until the saw me. Ended up with a handful of small blue gill so I trolled them. Went between the islands and saw nothing, ran over to Ventris found a lot of activity around 30 feet caught 4 big LM all over 17in but no stripers. Caught more blue gill and trolled to PC with only one spot to show for it. Then I got to the back of PC in 25 feet of water depth finder blanked out at 9, got the spoon out and caught 20 withes and 3 LM in 30 minutes. Live bait loaded up while I was playing a 4lb hybrid, the the drag started. Put the hybrid down pulled back on the live bait rod and it went slack, pulled the circle hook right out of the biggest fish of the day. Good day though zarraspook, Blll, Green236 and 4 others 7

Vinsott Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Spooning for whites sounds more fun than trolling. I am gonna try it again tomorrow. Silver or gold colored spoon? Dan maybe I'll see you out there. I have a tritoon with no top. I have eaten enough fish for a while, just ready for some catch and release. Blll 1

I was using a white spoon, when they feed like that I don't think it matters, I was in over 20 feet of water but the depth finder was reading 9 most of the time because the shad and fish were so thick. then it is over as quick as it began. Blll Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Tried PC this morning with brooders. Could not find much bait or fish. Wound up with a just short eye' and a nice 15" spot. Both hammered the brooders. Not a white bass to be seen. Had a couple small fish fooling with the bait but nada. Stone dead after 9am. Spent next couple hours shedding clothes as it really warmed up. Oh well, I've still got a bucket full of bait for later this week. WT still 64+ Vinsott and Stump bumper 2
Stump bumper Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 Cooler nights on the way, has got to slow down the shad and make those whites easier to find. I was right on top of a feeding frenzy of at least 40 plus fish Sunday and not one broke the top to give it away. Had I been 20 yards off I would not have seen a fish and no telling how many times in 8 hours I was just a few yards off. If that water temp will drop then those shad will group up and move into the back of the coves. I am in SW Texas right now and it is killing me not be out the at sunset.
