I haven't fished since the last flood. The sidewalk hole was brown stain & 49 degrees. Those shallow fish now 12-15ft deep. I saw lots of shad & crappie in the river, but it was really muddy at point 12 & lots of debris floating. I decided to run towards HSB until I found stained to clear water. The mixing area was near Eden's bluff & the Monte Ne area had the bext looking water & was 55 degrees. I found the biggest school of shad that I've seen anywhere. We fished from 11-5pm & had 12 bass & 1 big striper. Rock Crawler & Ned Rig today. The bass didnt move up with the lake, rather stayed put. So it makes sense that fish in 9ft of water before the flood are now in 12ft or water. I didnt find the right water, the right banks & the right area until late in the day. I should've fished logs around bluff ends with the Ned instead of the RK crawler. Either way, I landed my PB best striper by accident, It smashed the RK & took me for a ride.

Looks like you returned the favor and took him for a ride.

They just don't make flip flops as well as they used to.

That's how my striper fever came to be.  4 years ago I was fish in the back of black burn for bass when I hooked up to a ten pound striper.  I loved the fight immediately!  I've chased them every late fall and winter since.

Next trip, Im going to fish from PC to MN. Water looks just right, plus there's warm weather on the way.

Later in the month, Im going to start focusing on striper if the bass get lock jawed. I refuse to fish hot lake or sit at home.
