Yes they do have room and need room to expand and rise as much as Beaver and take the overflow from Beaver. But if it gets dry, then Beaver can supply the water needed for minimum flow to keep trout alive and provide electric all the way down the White. Bull Shoals is the main lake for flood control at the bottom and Beaver is your full pool storage to keep Table Rock and Bull going during dry months. Beaver will get run off from two rivers during this rain, but Table Rock will get runoff from 4 rivers and Beaver so it will rise up to 5 times faster than Beaver so that is where they are making room. When these big rains come you cannot pass it along at once. Champ188 1
Guest Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 You make some very good points. Here's the problem, we have one of the strongest El Niño taking shape & normal routines aren't going to work in this scenario. That's what I'm questioning. Why wait to move water, when you know that El Niño is just getting started? It seems pretty naive to assume the rest of this winter will be dry.
Members LarryC Posted December 22, 2015 Members Posted December 22, 2015 Looks like they are running one generator continuous. The other is down for maintenance I think. Shot on TV yesterday showed they also had the flood gates cracked. Is this the first time they have opened flood gates before the lake hits 1130? Making Beaver Lake safe for all the little fish...one striper at a time.

Old plug Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 If the rain is warmer than Than LOZ is n my area it might be a blessing. I live about 150 yards from amassive winter holding area. If it is raining warm some large crappie will often come into my dock for a short time while it is raining. It is usually in the afternoons.
