I sure hope we have a nice  long freeze at some point. Sure hate the springs after mild winters. Too many bugs amd snakes

We could have the coldest winter on record & the bugs will still be bad. I'm all about the mild winter, at least you can get stuff done outdoors without wearing coveralls.

I was wearing a t shirt & shorts today.

Get ready to receive stipers Table Rock !! If they run away from muddy water they will all go right over the dam.....lol

This may solve all that bickering and male measuring disputes among wildlife agencies.  (Haha)

I'm only kidding. This has happened before. Will happen again. Won't be enough to impact the tailwaters or the fishery.

We are really getting the rain that's for sure.  I checked the water level earlier today and it had dropped a foot because  they were generating. It was roughly 1125. I bet we get close to 1130. Which is really weird for the Polar Bear.  Rising water will push fish unseasonably shallow so the bank beaters will have a field day in the Polar Bear.  Should be a feast or famine tournament.

Bring em on. They'll never leave the Beaver Dam tailwaters with all the trout there to eat.

I guess it's no secret anymore that some real bruises have been caught in the tailwaters.

Both of the white river gauges are unavailable after going parabolic in the last hour.

J-Doc I think you are wrong on the fish moving up, it will be cold dirty water and I think the fish will sit where they are for a while that will make them deeper than they were but the same spot.

War Eagle weather station only recorded 2 inches of rain yesterday and lake did not seem to move much yet.

I just looked. LOZ is 1 1/4 ft above full. Ramps to the docks are starting to go under water around me.

You may be right. I didn't realize it was going to drop in temp so much.  I haven't watched a weather forecast yet. Wouldn't matter....they can't seem to predict it accurately anyway. :-)

I do know I caught two bass right on the bank last Thursday in 52 degree water.  Guess this rain will drop it to 48-49?  Maybe even 47 on the surface and 50 about 10ft down?

I have always heard it takes time for them to move after the water rises so if the if catch them on the bank and the water goes up 5 feet to look at 5 feet and the colder it is the longer it takes. Then I see sunshine coming and lots of run off coming so the run off should be warmer then the lake. If the warm water is running into the lake that is where I am going to start next week. Then if you see my boat you can bet that is not where the fish are at.....
