J-Doc Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 1132.03 crested. Now slowly dropping. If they keep the gates open, it could drop 3-4ft by Friday. Which will still be VERY high. The entire lake is dangerous for travel. Someone will damage a bass boat guaranteed. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
J-Doc Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 So the 2008 record level is the highest recorded at 1,132.21 with a release of 92,400cuft per second. Yesterday the lake crested at 1,132.04 with 92,150cuft per second. They just barely kept it from braking the record. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. But that was a spring flood so IMO apples and oranges, there is no December on record to compare to this one. Just saying J-Doc 1
1969Larson Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Record rainfall event in the winter of a record rainfall year. I'd say the Corps did pretty good and Beaver Dam did pretty much exactly what it was built to do. Champ188 1
Stump bumper Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 With two days of full generation and the gates closed the water is holding just below 1130 by inches. I wonder how long they will be able to pass along the water? Getting Bull back down will be the priority now.
Stump bumper Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Well it looks like 1129 is where they are going to leave it for a while anyway. Generation has slowed and looks like a high water winter. Everyone thinks the winter is dry but the news from NASA is this El Nino is like nothing we have seen before and has not even started dumping on us, it will be wetter than 97-98. I am afraid will revisit this subject again soon. I understand the Corp has to get Bull down, then Table Rock before they can let anymore out of Beaver, but with all this water backed up in Beaver it will just multiply their problems when the winter rains they are not used to hit them from this system.
JohnF52 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Looks like another good rain possibility in about four to five days. Need to get it down to below 1127 fast.
Blll Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Darned if it didn't go back up a little from yesterday.
