Who is willing to admit they are fishing this year's Polar Bear?

I'm all for Tradition.  Believe me. It's the only reason I've fished it before. 

 

But postponing it would be the better play. For everyone's safety. I'd be pleasantly surprised and pleased of they did. No one needs to risk their boats or lives for this.

Ok. I just heard from a reliable source that theywill have the Polar Bear as regularly scheduled. You guys fishing be safe and allow extra time to dodge debris.

Truth be told, I was going to play the part of resident jackass-armchair quarterback... But since you beat me to it, I thought I'd go ahead and fish it.

One year the lake was froze solid, so they lined up all the boats in a small area of PC that was open water. The first person that caught a bass blew an air horn and was declared the winner.

This year can not be that bad.

Last one I fished it was 17 degrees at launch, that was enough. I helped carry on the tradition for 10 years, time for younger stronger men to carry on. It should be Jan 1 regardless, that is what makes the memories.

I have a plan:

1. Arrive around  6:00 and pay entry

2. Stay in Tahoe until 8:30 or so. Or, hang out at HLS with Brother Scott if he happens to be there.

3. Launch the boat by 8:45.

4. Drop trolling motor and fish for an hour.

5. Come to my senses and head home.

We were going to fish it but don't want to take a chance on tearing something up. Probably going to go over to the hot lake instead.
