So the lake will be high for weeks and a slow draw down will start in February. Hope they draw it down quick before March or we will see this all again. I just saw that about the gates, generation is still at max so the mud line should progress, just not as fast. Right now there is no where to put the water, it has to go some where when it leaves the darn and everything downstream is flooding. Not even the Mississippi can hold any more and that is where it ends up. But I would not look to March and April for the next one, December is a "dry" month. This is going to be a super El Nino year, next storm cold be in Jan, Feb or we could be dealing with 30-35 inches of snow ! I think the time the Corps could have pulled down is past. I have never seen the mudline when it hits the wide part of Beaver, I wonder if it will continue to spread across or fall into the murky depths? There was a reason they used to pull down to 1115 in Oct but somewhere, someone forgot that reason.
J-Doc Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I've seen the mudline go all the way to Honey Creek before. I can't recall if it got past it. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

When largemouth are slow & dormant the smalls are kicking it.
Dan the fisherman Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Thanks trophy. I may try heading down river and catch me some. Especially with the striper conditions being so tough. SM action would be very welcomed
Dan the fisherman Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 How would I go about catching smallies this time of year? Baits/water depth. I really haven't a clue. Jigs and jerk baits. 15-30 feet?

I thought it would be colder. I headed to find mud line and found it just passed goat island almost to RB. I didn't mark n e thing. Also there isn't tons of debri between PC and RB. A few things floating around but again, not nearly as bad as I thought it wounld be. I'm sure it's a lot worse south of hwy 12 . Never fails.

I would venture over to the campgrounds & fish anything that's concrete or rock. If that doesn't pan out, try the biggest sycamore trees you can find all by themselves (isolated over) my weapons of choice: Ned jig & pig crawdad crankbait Square bill or spinnerbait basically, I wouldn't change baits & patterns that I've having success. Just switch colors & depths. Obviously the parking lot edges & campgrounds are in play right now. who knows, I could be totally wrong, but you gotta find a starting point
