Stump bumper Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 My suggestion would be don't fish tournaments that force you to fish the lower end, then that is just me. I would still fish those days, just don't enter the tournament until you best the best. You really don't have to pay an entry fee to compete only to win.
Guest Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I didn't enter a tournament, but I could tell by the rigs are PC that somebody was competing. After running from PC to Rambo & back, I would start at Lost Bridge. Im going to wait until PC is back to a green stain before going out again.Â

I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Sore Thumbs Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 With stain in the lower end. That makes it even better. I love to compete. Just wondering what adjustments I could have made. I knew what area to go to but just can't close the deal. Need more time on the water I guessÂ
Champ188 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Some days we just suck. I fished a derby at LOZ not too many years ago and absolutely zeroed. First time in a very long time I'd done that. Fastest 8 hours of my life. Hadn't been able to get on anything in practice and the crap continued to snowball on derby day. What's more, my co-angler caught a limit out of the back of the boat on a jig and I refused to tie one on. It was personal between me and the bass by that time. They were either gonna eat what I was throwing or I just wasn't going to catch them. You can guess who won that shoving match. LOL
Guest Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Champ makes a good point. Forcing the bite on them will backfire on you. Yesterday, I guessed that a jerk bait crankbait & jig would've produced. My problem was dialing up the right depth. I should've backed off & fished the old shoreline. Could've would've & should've but ran outta time. I need a break from that crummy lake.Â
Sore Thumbs Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 I fished the old bankline most of the day. I thought I should fish shallower. Ha
Champ188 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I talked to one of the guys yesterday afternoon who finished second Sunday. They caught all of their fish in less than 10 feet of water.
Stump bumper Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I heard of poor results flipping brush, did anyone try throwing flukes in the brush around those flipping shad? I was netting shad on the second looking for big gizzards and came up with more bass than gizzards. Every time I would see a big shad flip, I would throw the net and get a bass and tons of threadfin.
Sore Thumbs Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 They just found the right places. Those guys are consistent though. Cudos to anyone that does that on Beaver.
