techo Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 This is my first fishing report. Have to give the disclaimer, that I am one of the worst bass fisherman in the world. I love it though! We put in at Cape Fair around 8:00 Am and fished unitl around 3:00 PM. It was windy and we saw white caps! Pulled a nicer keeper out of the lake around marker thirteen. It liked the rogue. Pulled two short fish out, up north of Cape Fair, past the bridge. They liked the spinner. Water temp near marker 13 was still 39 degrees and was 44 up the river. It was also very muddy looking water once you get past Virgin Bluffs and the bridge. Tim Carpenter
Bill Babler Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Techo, Thanks for the river report, we don't seem to get a lot of posts, from Cape Fair and that area. I believe SK will come on here before long and give a Kings River and White River report, and i don't believe he tore them up either. Said the water was still in a chill. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 19, 2007 Root Admin Posted February 19, 2007 See- Babler's doing it now! The pressure is on! Thanks, techo for the report.

SKMO Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 This is my first fishing report. Have to give the disclaimer, that I am one of the worst bass fisherman in the world. I love it though! Techo - NOT a bad day and you are not the worst bass fishermen in the world. It's not the easiest right now so to boat a legal and handle a couple short fish is nothing to keep you awake at night. There are guys and guides on this lake who have thousands of hours experience and everyone walks away without any fish smell on their hands several time a year. On a Really Bad day on TR you catch no fish, tear up some major piece of equipment, (perhaps leaving your boat underwater) and someone is still bleeding as you drive to the emergency room. Trust me on this you had an OK day, SKMO "A True Fisherman with a Rod in His hand, and a Tug on the Line, would not Trade His Position for the Throne of Any King"
techo Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 It is funny you mention that. On one of the creeks we saw a bunch of stuff that looked like a boat had overturned. We saw a pair of flip flop shoes, a pop bottle, a milk bottle, an empty gas can and other items. We searched around, but didn't find anyone overturned anywhere. Tim Carpenter
Bill Babler Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Hey!!! SK, you had to be referring to our last outing. I did catch one unsubstaniated dink. Tech. If you found flip flops in the water at this time of year, someone needed to have sunk. The only boat in destress we have heard of lately, is on upper bull, with the bow sticking out. Haven't see it yet but if it rains the latter part of the week, I'm going to go over early one morning and try the walleye. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Sam Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I was at Kimberling City yesterday, picking up my boat with a new outboard motor installed. I'll be spending today sorting, organizing, and putting everything back in the boat, ready to go. It looks like today (Tuesday) would be a great day to be fishing. Yesterday I had intended to launch the boat and make a short run to try out the new motor. Because of the wind, I didn't do it - I had never seen such whitecaps on that part of Tablerock, it was 'way too rough for me. I think I saw a duck fly overhead - backwards. But I've got a new four-stroke Suzuki on my boat now, and I'm gonna be out there pretty quick.
Fishrman Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Hey SKMO, do you ever need a fishing partner on the weekends? I only live in Cassville, but understand if you like to go it alone.
SKMO Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Hey!!! SK, you had to be referring to our last outing. I did catch one unsubstaniated dink. I was not making any kind of negative remarks about anyone's fish locating/catching ability. This lake has handed me my hat so many times in a season it is comical. Even when it is good I have days that suk real bad. You gotta laugh or else you will liquidate your fishing holdings and get into something marginal like spending time at home trying to keep The Wife happy.
